We are a new digital media publication that spotlights nuanced and moving stories for women from Africa and the Diaspora. At our core, we are unifiers of an empowered, shared experience – dedicated to breaking new ground together.

 

History has long excluded and misrepresented African/Black women, so we set out to create a space that we can call ours, allowing us to explore and demonstrate who we really are and what we really want to see and do.

 

At AMAKA, we are devoted to cultivating a sense of community, unity and collaboration amongst creatively driven and culturally dynamic women.
