'Critical race theory,’is a term gaining momentum in the US. But what is it and how important is it? A number of republican state legislatures who are debating bills seek to stop it from being used in classrooms. Defenders say that while it's only taught at university, it’s  time for the country’s schools to reflect present-day conversations on race.
